Youth Intern (UNFPA Supported) X 2- National AIDS Council

Contract Duration: 11 Months

Are you young and innovative? Do you have a passion for excellence and really want to make meaningful change in your generation. NAC is presenting an opportunity to dynamic and self-motivated young persons to join its Youth Internship Programme that is supported by UNFPA.  The youth internship programme aims at creating opportunities for youth leadership in responding to HIV and AIDS. It identifies youths with interest and passion and places  them in an internship programme based at NAC Head Office in Harare, with travel to provincial and district offices around the country. It also provides opportunities for channelling energies towards creative use and empowerment with leadership skills to mobilize communities in halting AIDS and addressing its impact. The Youth intern will assist programme staff in supporting the Young People’s Network on HIV and AIDS (YPN) and other youth-related interventions of NAC. The intern will also perform other related tasks including interfacing with the organization’s stakeholders. The intern will be exposed to a variety of skills development and learning opportunities that will enable to rapid growth in various areas of the national response. A small stipend will be paid to meet day to day expenses.  QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES ·       At least two ‘A’ Level passes with a pass in English language at “O” level·       Must be aged between 18 and 24 years old.·       Proof of voluntary work within their communities·       Must have experience in HIV and AIDS work·       Ability to communicate fluently in English·       Must be smart, focused, energetic and be able to relate well with people·       Must be able to use Microsoft word, excel, power point and websites·       Must be good in report writing.

Administrative Assistant (TB- Global Fund Grant) X 1- National AIDS Council

Administrative Assistant (TB- Global Fund Grant) X 1- National AIDS Council

Contract Duration; 1 year (renewable- subject to performance)

Station: Harare

Reports to: Global Fund Coordinator 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Organising and coordinating meeting logistics for GF grant for NAC and producing related reports
  • Prepares meeting agendas, records and distributes meeting minutes and maintains organised files of the same.
  • Generating/maintaining and following up of all communication relating to the grant for NAC and IPs.
  • Maintaining a proper record keeping and retrieval system of documents relating to the grant.
  • Keeping track of activities and events for the entire unit and prompt follow up of the same
  • Regularly review progress on standard GF deliverables and take appropriate action to ensure timely completion of all departmental tasks.
  • Liaising with SSRs and IPs on non-technical issues as assigned.
  • Any other relevant duty that may be assigned by a person in authority

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Higher National Diploma in Office Management/ Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communicate skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of computers (MS Office packages).

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer X1 Global Fund

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Global Fund Grant) X 1- National AIDS Council

Contract Duration; 1 year (renewable- subject to performance)

Station: Harare

Reports to: Monitoring and Evaluation Director

Overall Responsibility

The M&E Officer will be responsible for the monitoring and ensuring high quality and timely inputs, and for ensuring that the Grant maintains its strategic vision and that its activities result in the achievement of its intended outputs in a cost effective and timely manner. The M&E officer will be responsible for designing and implementing the M&E activities of the Grant and coordinating the collection & analysis of different data in relation to the project activities and preparation of periodic reports on project progress and monitor SSR Activities on a regular basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures

Monitor all SR and SSR activities progress towards achieving the project output.

Monitoring the indicators and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results.

Monitor the sustainability of the project’s results.

Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all Grant activities to the PR;

Support monitoring and evaluation of the effects and impact of the project;

Maintain an up to date database for NAC, SSRs and IPs.

Undertake Data Quality Assessments to provide in-depth assessment of data quality reported by the SSRs, develop and implement action plan in collaboration with SSRs for corrective measures on identified gaps during the Data Quality Assessments.

Conduct On-site Data Verification using standardized tools to provide overall picture/statement on quality of important programmatic results and develop and implement action plan in collaboration with SSRs for corrective measures on identified gaps.

Ensure that programme activity and financial reporting procedures are harmonized and closely integrated and to cross-validate programme activity monitoring and financial monitoring data.

Participate in evaluation, reviews, survey, surveillance or special studies focusing on AGYW.

Participate in the M&E technical working group and other relevant M&E forums focusing for both HIV/AIDS and TB.

Conduct training and capacity building courses on monitoring and, evaluation as required for SSRs

Assist the Director in coordinating Monitoring and Evaluation related communication within NAC for the Global Fund programmes.

Competencies·

Sound knowledge of MIS, M&E and development issues

Excellent knowledge of monitoring and the application of methodology: Good understanding of capacity assessment methodologies; excellent ability to identify significant capacity building opportunities; ·       Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • University degree in a Social/ Health Sciences degree or equivalent. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the design and implementation of M&E/MIS in development projects. Experience in HIV and AIDS work will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
  • Sound knowledge of Computer skills is a requisite: statistical packages for data analysis (SPSS, Epi -Info, SAS, etc) are an added advantage.
  • Strong training & facilitation skills
  • Be in possession of a clean class 4 drivers’ licence.

Finance Officer – National AIDS Council Station: NAC Head Office, Harare

Reports to: Global Fund Coordinator

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Integrate GF financial procedure into NAC financial systems.
  • Advise sub recipients Finance Officers on financial management.
  • Produce financial statements for NAC.
  • Undertake project visits to ensure compliance with GF financial procedures.
  • Consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual project expenditure reports.
  • Analyse and monitor overall project financial situation.
  • Synthesise and generate financial information on overall programme resources.
  • Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Global Fund Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Accounting or full diploma in professional accounting (CIS, ACCA, CIMA).
  • At least five (5) years relevant experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Pastel Evolution is an added advantage.
  • Be in possession of a clean class 4 drivers’ licence.

Key Populations Coordinator – National AIDS Council – Head Office

Reports to: Operations Director

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of national HIV, Gender and SRHR policies, strategies/guidelines and interventions for ongoing national Key Affected Populations programme jointly identified by Government (NAC) and key stakeholders.
  • Provides technical support in mainstreaming responses for key affected populations in all national HIV and AIDS policies and operational plans.
  • Builds capacity of Organizations and communities on key affected populations interventions.
  • Supports relevant research on HIV, Gender and SRHR for Key Affected Populations.
  • Supports and coordinates designing and production of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials related to Key Affected Populations.
  • Facilitates documentation of lessons learnt and best practices.
  • Participates in Monitoring and Evaluation of key affected populations interventions and mainstreaming activities.
  • Maintains a comprehensive database of key affected populations partners and initiatives.
  • Convenes quarterly Key Affected population’s forum and relevant stakeholder meetings.
  • Formulates and manages NAC key affected populations budget.
  • Produces quarterly and annual work plans, and periodic reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University Degree in a relevant Social / Health Science/ Development degree or equivalent.
  • A  Master’s Degree would be a  an added advantage
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in programme management or HIV and AIDS programming of which 2 years should be experience from working with KPs.
  • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of statistical packages for data analysis (SPSS, Epi -Info, SAS, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be in possession of a clean class 4 drivers’ licence.

Driver – Global Fund Project- National AIDS Council Station: Head Office

Reports to: Administration Officer

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Drive NAC vehicles on official duties.
  • Clean vehicles daily and check functionality of accessories.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report all defects.
  • Monitor and report vehicles service mileage when due.
  • Compile and submit vehicle log books for all errands carried out.
  • Update and maintains vehicle daily usage files.
  • Initiate fuel requests for all pool vehicles.
  • Deliver mail and undertake other messenger duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.

  • 5 ‘O’ Levels including English Language.
  • Clean Class 4 Drivers’ licence, a class 2 driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
  • Valid Defensive Driver’s Certificate.
  • At least three (3) years driving experience obtained from a formal work environment.
  • Strong IT skills.
