Background and Rationale
World TB Day is observed every year on March 24 to create awareness and support world-wide efforts to eliminate tuberculosis (TB). This annual event commemorates the date in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced his discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacillus that causes tuberculosis (TB).

Zimbabwe will join the rest of the World to commemorate the World TB Day on the 24th of March 2019. Zimbabwe’s commemoration will be held in Mangwe District of Matebeleland Province.
